Odometer mileage shows 81,156, appears close to original. A 350 cubic inch Chevrolet engine rated at approx. 500 horsepower (rebuilt original) is currently installed with aftermarket headers and side pipes (much louder than stock).
PERTINENT NUMBERS/DATES: Vehicle Serial Number: 194679S727635 Build Date: August 25, 1969 (approx.) Engine Cast Number: Appears original #3970010. Master cylinder: Original aged condition, minor leak Distributor: Non OEM Alternator: 11000843 Replacement Voltage Regulator: Aftermarket replacement, works well Horn Relay: OEM Harrison Radiator: 69 C- appears original as installed Transmission Serial Number Derivative: Muncie four speed (not inspected) Rear End Stamped Number: appears original- no leaks, appears orig. Windshield: Non LOF replacement Driver & Passenger Side Window: original LOF (Left GV Apr/ 69) (Rt XV Feb/1969).
Condition:
Body: Some minor repairs and damage at all of the fender lips. Panels appear to be original with only minor patching and repairs. The hood fits well and has correct weather-stripping. The doors are complete with all operating hardware and weather stripping in place, in good condition (Rag roof operation needs some adjustment). This Corvette just needs some TLC and touch up paint to improve its over-all appearance. The paint ( Burgundy) is not original. Original color was green. Bumpers and chrome trim are installed and in good condition.
Interior: Original driver and passenger seats are worn with separations; carpeting is original, showing normal wear. Dash cluster, console and dash pads are in normal aged condition. All chrome trim is in good condition. Most gauges are original with an added water temperature gauge (not stock) and appear to function well. Door panels are in very good condition. Shifter is original with a custom knob that is functioning as it should.
Chassis: No apparent repairs or major rust through. All chassis components (Springs, Ball Joints, Brakes (Disc), Brake Lines, Fuel Lines, etc.) appear original with the exception of the shock absorbers. The condition is aged and worn as expected. The gas tank is also original with no apparent leaks. Wheels are a non- stock wire wheel design, similar to a Dayton wheel and need some detailing and cleaning. (Done!) (Front brake lines and three calipers just replaced, brake lines bled with new brake fluid).
Mechanical: The original engine assembly is present but as previously mentioned it has been rebuilt and modified slightly. The engine compartment has not been restored but most of the original wiring and vacuum hoses are present. The engine (350 c.i./500 h.p.) runs very well and has about 3,000 miles on it. All running gear (brakes, clutch, transmission, radiator, hoses, fuel, etc.) and all are working very well. After market Ignition System (missing shielding), Intake Manifold, Carburetor and Headers with side exhaust make this a nice performance Corvette to drive.
Owner is third owner and has been in his possession since 1989.
In conclusion this vehicle represents a very nice example of a C-3 (Stingray) Corvette. It is mechanically sound and road worthy with a mostly original chassis and drive train. It can be left as is or repainted and restored if so decided by the owner. Its current condition makes it a very nice driver. The originality of the Chassis, Drive Train, Interior and the provenance of this particular Corvette. Its value is to the serious collector that appreciates the car for the above reasons and may not appeal to the average buyer.
Sold "As is." No warranty implied.
